Notes on 1 Cor 10:1-33
Introduction: Paul continues to explain the
primary goal of every believer, preacher, pastor, teacher, bus driver,
Sunday school Directory, or ant one in the service of the Lord Christ
Jesus. That service is to save as many as
possible.
Introduce them to Christ Jesus.
For a speaker or soul winner’s message to have the
effect and power it should, one has to let the Holy Spirit
control their lives ( we say the phrase turn you life over to Jesus.
) The Spirit of Christ cannot lead unless you are
saved. The Holy Spirit and the Spirit of God or of Christ mean the
same. There is so much riding on the action of
aservant of the Lord. They need to be aware of their life style.
Paul is trying to explain this point. The believers need to ( must ) practice
what they preach.
In the country of the U.S.A. everyone
has a freedom of religion whether the religion is Good or Bad, whether
it is of God or not. In this country its citizens are Free thinkers.
A religion that does not include the God of the Old
Testament is not the same God we are talking about here.
The greatest Gift given to
mankind is God’s Gift of Salvation through the work of His son Christ Jesus.
John
3:16. In God’s salvation each believer has liberty. 2
Cor 3:17
When a fellow believer begins to tell you, you shouldn’t read that
version of the Bible or commentaries. Beware
that could be censorship. They are taking a way you Joy.
In 2
Tim 2:15 each believer is told to study thyself, don’t just take
someone’s word. Check it out. Jude 1:3.
There are numerous translations and commentaries
by men of Old.
Several religions don’t use any commentaries except the writings
of their founders. This is dangerous they can brain wash their people.
They use certain translations that suit there needs.
Many that tries to take your freedom away,
doubt the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells inside each believer.

There are some born again minister of the
Gospel that are hindered by the powerful ones. So enjoy our
religious freedom. Study God Word. If people will let them speak
to their soul they are Living. Heb 4:12

Bare in mind that Paul is talking of losing the physical
life, Not the lost of eternal life. There are examples
where God has taken believers home early. Paul talks about this.
The believer is to bring Glory to Christ name. There is praise in heaven

1 Cor 10:1-6 YLT And I
do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under
the cloud, and all passed through the
sea,
2 YLT and all to Moses were baptized in the cloud, and in the sea;
3 YLT and all the same spiritual food did eat,
4 YLT and all the same spiritual drink did drink, for they were drinking
of a spiritual rock following them,
and the rock was the Christ;
5 YLT but in the most of them God was not well pleased, for they
were strewn in the wilderness,
6 YLT and those things became types of us, for our not passionately
desiring evil things, as also these did desire.
Notes:
1. This is idolatrous and is real not an imagery peril.
2. The ones that don’t know or understand have to be enlightened. Paul
starts to explain this.
3. What does the word Baptized Mean? To immerse.
4. All were baptized. The Lord provided them a way to escape. The Israelites
were brought to
a place before crossing the Red sea that they had to look to God for help.
They we being
brought to the point that they and the rest of the world had to know that
it was the work of
God. Moses was only the one chosen to lead them.
5. The cloud covered them on top, two walls of water on each side and dry
ground on the
bottom.
6. God provided them with manna, the bread of life. Looking forward to
Jesus body who gave
his body for the lost sinners of the world.
7. Verse 4 All drink of the same water. From the spiritual rock.
Moses struck the rock God
comanded him to. The rock followed them, the rock was Christ.
Some believe that a stream ran through the camp no matter where they were.
Others
believe that a piece of the rock traveled with them.
8. Called spiritual food and drank is because it came from above, Christ.
9. People can have everything and then nothing will make them happy. Rev
3:17.
God provided for them. They Grumbled and murmured so hard that God saw
fit to end their
physical lives here on earth. Paul was trying to make the Corinthians understand
the same
fate could happen to them. Only two got to the promised land. They
had to wait till that
generation all died.
10. All of the things written in the Old Testament are examples for the
believers to learn from.
The New Testament is for education. The believer is not to lust after evil
things.
1 Cor 10:7 YLT Neither
become ye idolaters, as certain of them, as it hath been written, `The
people sat down to eat and to drink,
and stood up to play;'
8 YLT neither may we commit whoredom, as certain of them did commit
whoredom, and there fell in one day twenty-three
thousand;
9 YLT neither may we tempt the Christ, as also certain of them did
tempt, and by the serpents did perish;
10 YLT neither murmur ye, as also some of them did murmur, and did
perish by the destroyer.
Notes:
1. Paul did not want the believers at Corinth to have anything to do with
idolaters, their worship,
or feasts.
2. The Israelites made a golden calf.
Some think this was their image of God.
Other think it had to do with their past in Egypt.
Either way under the Ten Commandments it was a sin.
Exodus 20:3-6 YLT
`Thou hast no other Gods before Me.
4 `Thou dost not make to thyself a graven image, or any likeness
which is in the heavens above,
or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth.
5 Thou dost not bow thy self to them, nor serve them: for I, Jehovah
thy God,
am a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third
generation ,
and on the fourth, of those hating Me,
6 and doing kindness to thousands, of those loving Me and keeping
My commands.
The Christian religion is by faith. The uses of pictures of Christ are
they right?
No one living today knows what Christ looked like. There no descriptions
of How Christ
looked found in the Bible. God cannot be described by a picture.
3. God revels Himself to man. When man tries to describe God it is always
by man’s idea of
God. This may be why we have difference brands of religion. They are man’s
idea. We as
believers are to let God reveal Himself to the believer. God will do this
if we read and study.
4. The Israelites had their idea of God as a golden calf and that the correct
way to worship was
to have immoral sex and get drunk. Lost control. A believer is never to
lose control of their
body or mind. I am not talking about sickness.
5. Paul describes as twenty-three thousand fell in one day.
The number in Numbers 25:9 is twenty-four
thousand.
A1. These may have been rounded figures.
A2. The twenty-four thousand may be the total of all that died overtime.
A3. The twenty-three thousand was the number in one day.
6. They tempted Christ.
Job Question God. We can ask why but be willing to accept God’s way as
correct and
righteous.
7. The serpents bit them. To live a physical life and be healed, they had
to look upon the blazing
Serpent. The one lifted up on a pole. Faith in Christ. The serpent on the
pole was a picture of
Christ on the tree ( cross ).
8. The Corinthians were acting much like the Israelites. Paul was warning
them that the same
peril could befall them.
9. Who is the destroyer?
And were destroyed of the destroyer—That is, they were doomed to die in
the wilderness
without seeing the land of Canaan; Exodus. 14:29. The “destroyer” here
is understood
by many to mean the “angel of death,” so often referred to in the Old Testament,
and usually called by the Jews “Sammael.” The work of death,
however, is attributed to an angel in Exodus. 12:23; compare Heb. 11:28.
It was
customary for the Hebrews to regard most human events as under the direction
of angels.
In Heb. 2:14, he is described as he “that had the power of death;” compare
the Book of Wisdom 18:22, 25. The simple idea here, however, is, that they
died for their sin,
and were not permitted to enter the promised land,

10. Murmuring See num 14:2-29; Cp num
26:63-65
1 Cor 10:11-13 YLT And
all these things as types did happen to those persons, and they were written
for our admonition,
to whom the end of the ages did come,
12 YLT so that he who is thinking to stand--let him observe, lest
he fall.
13 YLT No temptation hath taken you--except human; and God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above
what ye are able, but He will make, with the temptation, also the outlet,
for your being able to bear it .
Notes:
1. These thing did happen.
2. Why were they written?
For a warning, to the end of the age.
3. There is a danger of a person becoming too sure of themselves.
1 Tim 3:7. I have heard preachers say they
are always going to serve the Lord and not sin.
Beware. The Devil has just started to work in their life from that moment.
1 Tim 3:6-7 YLT
not a new convert, lest having been puffed up he may fall to a judgment
of the devil;
7 and it behoveth him also to have a good testimony from those without,
that he may not fall into
reproach and a snare of the devil.
When one preaches the Gospel they have to leave the believers out of it.
Christ is the
only one infallible. All believers sin. That is why we must confess our
sin daily.
1 John 1:9.
4. Pride is what caused Adam And Eve to sin. Our eyes should always be
on God and
allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and use us.
5. All believers are tempted the same. The temptation is the same as others
Humans. Some
gave their Lives. Would you say you didn’t believe in God to save your
physical life.
Would that be given another Human and/or the Devil control over you life
on earth?
6. God will always make an outlet so we can bear it.
1 Cor 10:14-16 YLT Wherefore,
my beloved, flee from the idolatry;
15 YLT as to wise men I speak--judge ye what I say:
16 YLT The cup of the blessing that we bless--is it not the fellowship
of the blood of the Christ?
the bread that we break--is it not the fellowship of the body of the Christ?
Notes:
1. Paul repeats, making it very important to take heed. Don’t have
anything to do with
idolatry. Anytime God is not first there is a danger of idolatry.
2. He knows his audience is wise, so he tells them to take heed and study
what he says.
3. When the believer partakes of the Lord’s Supper there is a blessing
said over it.
4. How do Christian fellowship?
By the blood and the body of Christ.
Then do we not fellowship with other Christians just because they don’t
belong to our
local church?
If they are saved by the blood of Christ, the finished work of Christ then
we all belong
to the Lord’s Church. ( The Bride of Christ. )
It is helpful in this regard to understand that receiving Christ is an
act of the will which may
involve some knowledge of the way of salvation and may be expressed emotionally
to some
extend, but the fundamental question is, “Have I really received Jesus
Christ by faith as
my personal Savior?” Until this question is honestly faced, there can,
of course,
be no ground for eternal security and no real assurance of Salvation.
Many who deny eternal security are merely saying that superficial faith
is
not enough to save. Adherents to eternal security agree on this point.
The question
properly stated is whether one who is actually saved and has received eternal
life can
lose that which God has
done in saving him from sin.
Major Bible Themes ,

1 Cor 10:17 YLT because
one bread, one body, are we the many--for we all of the one bread do partake.
Notes:
1. Christ at the upper room had one loaf of bread and one cup of wine.
2. The one loaf represent Christ body. The wine Christ blood that was shed
for the remission
of our sins. Sins, past, present, future. Heb 9:22;
Heb 10:18.
3. Every born again believer is in the family of God.
Every born again believer is a member of Christ’s church.
4. These are strong arguments for open Lord’s Supper.
The Lord’s Supper is the Lord’s Supper not the churches supper.
The requirements for partaking of the Lord’s Supper is:
B1. Know Jesus as your personal saviour.
B2. Have all of your sin confessed and prayed for. Have a clean heart.
1 Cor 11:28-29.
1 Cor 11:27-32 YLT so that whoever may eat this bread or may drink
the cup of the Lord unworthily,
guilty he shall be of the body and blood of the Lord:
28 and let a man be proving himself, and so of the bread let him
eat, and of the cup let him drink;
29 for he who is eating and drinking unworthily, judgment to himself
he doth eat and drink
--not discerning the body of the Lord.
30 Because of this, among you many are weak and sickly, and sleep
do many;
31 for if ourselves we were discerning, we would not be being judged,
32 and being judged by the Lord, we are chastened, that with the
world we may not be condemned;
5. The Lord’s Supper is between that person ( the one partaking of it )
and God. The Disciples
were told to do this often in remerbance of Me. We have Fellowship with
God, the Son,
and then Holy GhostThe Church is not held responsible. The Spirit of Christ
dwells in every
believer.
Paul went to that church and this one. They all had The Lord’s Supper.
When the Lord’s Supper is closed to everyone but the local members, The
Local church
becomes a force over the believer. Christ should be the force over the
believer. Is the
Local Church having control above that of God? God did not intend for it
to be closed. He
wanted Christians to fellowship. Heb 10:25; Mat 18:20.
1 Cor 10:18 YLT See Israel
according to the flesh! are not those eating the sacrifices in the fellowship
of the altar?
Notes:
1. Paul is leading the though to the next verse. If one eats of the sacrifice
to the altar of God
are they not partakers of the altar or service ( worship )?
2. If the believer eats and drinks of the Lord’s Supper they are
partakers of the invisible
church of God. In the visible church there may be many that are lost, only
professing
Christians. They have never allowed Christ into their hearts.
3. A God sent preacher would have a concern for all of the flock that God
has given them
to watch over. We are to be alert to everyone that crosses the believer’s
path. It did
Happen by change. Romans 8:28
1 Cor 10:19 YLT what then do
I say? that an idol is anything? or that a sacrifice offered to an idol
is anything? --
20 YLT no, but that the things that the nations sacrifice--they
sacrifice to demons and not to God; and
I do not wish you to come into the fellowship of the demons.
Notes:
1. First an idol cannot speak it is nothing.
Psalm 115:4 YLT
Their idols are silver and gold, work of man's hands,
5 A mouth they have, and they speak not, Eyes they have, and they
see not,
6 Ears they have, and they hear not, A nose they have, and they smell
not,
7 Their hands, but they handle not, Their feet, and they walk not;
8 Nor do they mutter through their throat, Like them are their makers,
Every one who is trusting
in them.
2. A sacrifice offered to idols is nothing.
3. One cannot serve both.
4. They do not know it but by making sacrifices to idols they are making
sacrifices to Demons.
Mat 6:24; Luke 16:13.
5. There are groups that have a God of their own choosing. Saying everyone
worship their God
in their own way. That is where the problem comes in.
We as believers can only worship God one way, in spirit and truth.
John 4:24; John 6:63. John 14:6 Jesus
is the way the only way. The bible
says. Jesus said.
John 14:6 YLT Jesus saith to him, `I am the
way, and the truth, and the life,
no one doth come unto the Father, if not through me;
6. Paul put in to them plainly. He doesn’t want them to fellowship with
Demons.
Paul has given the examples. Instead of just telling the flock that
a bible or Biblical is
wrong and you should not read it. The pastor takes it on as a study. At
least this way
one will have made an educated opinion of the work. Christians are not
meant to
be dictated to. The believer has a freedom to chose. God lives inside each
believer.
Let Him work through you.
He pointed out that eating meat offered to idols was ok under Christian
liberty, but it is
wrong if it offended a weaker Christian. One possibly is they might end
up at idol temples
in idol worship.
1 Cor 10:21 YLT Ye are
not able the cup of the Lord to drink, and the cup of demons; ye are not
able of the table of the Lord to partake,
and of the table of demons;
Notes:
1. One cannot serve two masters. John 4:24; John
6:63
1 Cor 10:22 YLT do we
arouse the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than He?
Notes:
1. This would provoke the Lord to Jealous. When the Lord is jealous he
could issue out
punishment.
Does he get angry when he gets jealous? Gen 6:6-7.
2. Are the human stronger or wiser than the Lord? Stronger than the creator?
Are the human race able to withstand his punishment.
I would hate to be lost with out Jesus to be intercessor on our behalf.
3. God Discipline His own. Heb 12:7-8.
1 Cor 10:23-24 YLT All
things to me are lawful, but all things are not profitable; all things
to me are lawful,
but all things do not build up;
24 YLT let no one seek his own--but each another's.
Notes:
1. Romans 1:16-17 Our all powerful God saves
us. It is God’s free Gift.
Romans 6:23.
2. This free Gift gives us as believers’ liberties. All things, which are
about to harm a brother
or sister in Christ should be avoided. Will our actions cause a soul
to be lost or cause a
weak Christian to stumble. A Christian can have been a believer for fifty
years or more
and still be weak.
1 Cor 3:2; 1 Cor 9:7; Heb 5:12; Heb 5:13; 1 Peter
2:2.
Everything a Christian does should be profitable.
My Grand son we are raising was born 03-24-1994. On his last birth
day, his grandmother and I set up a birthday party for him at school.
His mom died last year 09-11-2001 from problems she had had for
fourteen years. She was a Quad. Well his teacher is very sweet, her
mother is principle of the school he attends. They came to his mom’s
Memorial service.
I noticed that everything she did was to teach these children. She
taught twenty-plus children for nine months. This is the way we are
to teach our kin and friends about Jesus. Everything we say or do
should be in order to bring a soul and their family to a saving
knowledge of Christ Jesus. I you win one person over to Christ over
time the rest of the family will follow.
3. Will it build up the ministry? Your actions. Does it educate the Saints?
4. We are to forget about our selves. The Goal of every born again
Christian is to lead some one else to Christ. So Christ can get the Glory.
5. The word wealth in the KJV is a supplied word. A better-supplied word
would
have been welfare. The verse gives the meaning of helping someone
down and out. One needing help.
1 Cor 10:25-30 YLT Whatever
in the meat-market is sold eat ye, not inquiring, because of the conscience,
26 YLT for the Lord's is the earth, and its fulness;
27 YLT and if any one of the unbelieving do call you, and ye wish
to go, all that is set before
you eat, nothing inquiring, because of the conscience;
28 YLT and if any one may say to you, `This is a thing sacrificed
to an idol,' --do not eat,
because of that one who shewed it , and of the conscience, for the Lord's
is the earth and its fulness:
29 YLT and conscience, I say, not of thyself, but of the other, for
why is it that my liberty is
judged by another's conscience?
30 YLT and if I thankfully do partake, why am I evil spoken of, for
that for which I give thanks?
Notes:
1. The old English word for meat-market was shambles.
1Co 10:25 - Whatsoever is sold in the shambles,
Notes by John Gill
.... the word rendered "shambles", here used, is a Latin word, and is
made use of by Latin writers in the same sense as here, for a place where
food was sold (i). The original of the name is said (k) to be this; one
Macellus, a very wicked and profane man, being for his robberies and
filthy life condemned to die, a place was built in his house by Aemylius
and Fulvius, censors, for selling of provisions, and which from his name
was called "Macellum". The Syria version retains the word here, and
so do the Talmudists, and Robbins (l) frequently; who say (m),
"Nylwqm, the "shambles", and the butchers of Israel, though flesh of
them is found in the hand of a stranger, it is free:''
into these places the priests sent to be sold what was offered to their
idols, which they could not dispense with themselves, or thought not
lawful to make use of; for the Egyptians, as Herodotus says (n), used
to cut off the heads of their beasts that were sacrificed, and carry
them into the market and sell them to the Greeks, and if there were
no buyers they cast them into the river. Now the apostle allows, that
such meat that was sold in the shambles might be bought and eat of,
but not in an idol's temple; there was a difference between an idol's
temple, and eating things sacrificed to idols there, and buying them in
shambles or meat market, and eating them at home:
that eat; buy, carry home, dress and eat, in your own houses:
asking no question; whether it was sacrificed to idols, or not:
for conscience sake; either a man's own, which may be hurt, wounded,
and defiled, by eating contrary to it, should he know that what he eats
had been offered to an idol; whereas if he asks no questions, and knows
nothing of the matter, his conscience will not be afflicted: or else
another man's that may stand by whilst the meat is bought, and sold;
and who hearing questions asked and answered, and yet observes the
meat, though sacrificed to idols, dressed and ate by the buyer, his
conscience being weak, may be offended and grieved.

2. Paul says it is ok to eat this meat as long as it is not part of worship
service of idols.
3. Don’t ask questions be cause of conscience.
4. Everything is the Lords. John 1:3.
5. As long as you can ask a blessing over it, it is ok to go and eat. Don’t
offend your
host by asking a lot of questions about the meat or drink. Just don’t ask
Questions.
6. Something’s take time to understand. If someone goes to make a issue
out of what
you are eating, don’t argue just refrain from eating or drinking it.
7. Again Paul repeats the importance of the earth, the Lord’s creation
and its fullness
belong to the Lord.
8. Paul asks why he is judge by someone else conscience. The Lord
is the one to
make judgments. We are to answer to the Lord and no one else, Some priest
are no
better than the common sinner, some may not be saved themselves. While
we are
on this earth we are to do everything possible to win souls.
9. He continues to pose the question in order to make his reader
think. Thankful partaking is giving thanks. It has always been if
a
believer could ask a blessing on anything it should be ok. Unless we are
forbidden in the New Testament. Lots of preachers and deacons smoke that
is
wrong. Some we criminals, more had sex before marriage. But they
want let a
divorced man be a pastor. Sin is Sin.
Is it because they don’t think God can forgive? Look at King David,
Abraham,
Jacob and others that sinned. But God used them Greatly. 1
Tim 3:1-7. The primary
thrust of the passage Is Good report? Most of theses were living with more
than
one wife. They had women troubles. The Middle East is having trouble to
day is
cause of their women problems.
The following is interesting. It basically has to do with Christian charater.
A born
again believe should be of Good report, And show a fullness of God’s Spirit.
What is so striking about the following is that the oldest commentaries
interpretation of husband of one wife means one wife at a time. They
could have had more than one wife, but to hold an office in the church
they could only have one wife that they were still married to.
The newer commentaries change to only being married once.
Did the bible change, did God change? No man changed.
1 Tim 3:1 YLT Stedfast is the word: If any one the oversight doth
long for, a right work he desireth;
2 it behoveth, therefore, the overseer to be blameless, of one wife
a husband, vigilant, sober, decent,
a friend of strangers, apt to teach,
3 not given to wine, not a striker, not given to filthy lucre, but
gentle, not contentious,
not a lover of money,
4 his own house leading well, having children in subjection with
all gravity,
5 (and if any one his own house how to lead hath not known, how an
assembly of God shall he take care of?)
6 not a new convert, lest having been puffed up he may fall to a
judgment of the devil;
7 and it behoveth him also to have a good testimony from those without,
that he may not fall into reproach and a snare of the devil.
John Gill
1 Tim 3:2 - A bishop then must be blameless,.... Or "an elder", as the
Syriac version renders it; not that it can be expected that such
an one should be entirely free from sin, or be blameless in the
sight of God; but that he should be one, who is so before men,
and has not been guilty of any notorious and flagitious crime;
and particularly, is not chargeable with the vices hereafter
mentioned or hinted at. So the priests under the law were to be
without blemish, even in their bodies, Lev_21:17 to which the
apostle may here allude.
The husband of one wife; which is not to be understood in a
mystical and allegorical sense of his being the pastor of one church,
since the apostle afterwards speaks of his house and children, that
are to be ruled and kept in good order by him, in distinction from
the church of God; but in a literal sense of his conjugal estate;
though this rule does not make it necessary that he should have a
wife; or that he should not marry, or not have married a second
wife, after the death of the first; only if he marries or is married,
that he should have but one wife at a time; so that this rule
excludes all such persons from being elders, or pastors, or
overseers of churches, that were "polygamists"; who had more
wives than one at a time, or had divorced their wives, and not for
adultery, and had married others. Now polygamy and divorces
had very much obtained among the Jews; nor could the
believing Jews be easily and at once brought off of them. And
though they were not lawful nor to be allowed of in any; yet they
were especially unbecoming and scandalous in officers of
churches. So the high priest among the Jews, even when
polygamy was in use, might not marry, or have two wives, at
once; if he did, he could not minister in his office until he
divorced one of them (u). For it is written, Lev_21:13, "he shall
take a wife", "one, and not two" (w). And the same that is said
of the high priest, is said of all other priests; see Eze_44:22,
likewise the Egyptian priests might not marry more wives than
one, though others might have as many as they pleased (x): and
so the Flamines among the Romans (y). An elder or pastor
must also be one that is vigilant; or wakeful and watchful, who
is diligent in his business, and attends to his care and charge; is
watchful over himself, his words, and actions; and watches for
the souls of men, to do them all the good he can; and is sober
in body, is temperate, and uses moderation in eating and
drinking; and in mind, is modest, humble, and prudent; and so
the Vulgate Latin Version renders the word "prudent": and
the Ethiopic version, "a wise man", one of a sound judgment,
a good understanding, and prudent conduct; is not wise above
what is written, but thinks soberly of himself, as he ought. The
Syriac and Arabic versions render it, "chaste", as free from
intemperance, so from uncleanness: and of good behaviour:
neat and decent in his apparel; modest in his whole deportment
and conduct, and affable and courteous to all; beautiful in his life
and conversation, being adorned with every thing that is graceful
and comely: given to hospitality: to the love of strangers,
and to the entertainment of them; and especially the saints and fellow
ministers, who are exiled, or are travelling for the sake of spreading
the Gospel, or upon some lawful and laudable account. These he is
to assist by his advice and counsel, and with the necessaries of life,
according to his abilities. Abraham and Lot are noted instances
of this virtue.
Apt to teach; who has a considerable store of knowledge; is
capable of interpreting the Scripture to the edification of
others; is able to explain, lay open, and illustrate the truths of
the Gospel, and defend them, and refute error; and who is not
only able, but ready and willing, to communicate to others
what he knows; and who likewise has utterance of speech, the
gift of elocution and can convey his ideas of things in plain and
easy language, in apt and acceptable words; for otherwise it
signifies not what a man knows, unless he has a faculty of
communicating it to others, to their understanding and advantage.

1 Tim 3:2
Second—must be the husband of one wife. He should be a married man, but
he should
Be no polygamist; and have only one wife, i.e. one at a time. It does not
mean that, if he
has been married, and his wife die, he should never marry another. Some
have most
foolishly spiritualized this, and say, that by one wife the Church is intended!
This silly
quibbling needs no refutation. The apostle’s meaning appears to be this:
that he should
not be a man who has divorced his wife and married another; nor one that
has two
wives at a time. It does not appear to have been any part of the apostle’s
design to
prohibit second marriages, of which some have made such a serious business.
But it is
natural for some men to tithe mint and cummin in religion, while they neglect
the
weightier matters of the law.

Just found theses though might be of interest. Goes along with the Christian
being of Good report.
1 Cor 10:31 YLT Whether,
then, ye eat, or drink, or do anything, do all to the glory of God;
32 YLT become offence less, both to Jews and Greeks, and to the assembly
of God;
33 YLT as I also in all things do please all, not seeking my own
profit, but that of many --that they may be saved.
Notes:
1. Do everything to the Glory of God.
2. Don’t let people find fault with you.
3. We are to stay true to God but become offence less, not looking for
gain
personally, but that many may be saved.
If God can breath life into His word He can give
you a new life, life everlasting, eternal life.
He will be there for you to turn to in time of crisis. If you have
a big problem you have a small God of little power.
If your problems are small then you have a big powerful God. A God

Genesis 1:1-2.
The creation theory doesn’t take into the fact everything
God created He made perfect and without sin. Sin corrupts. Look at
Adam and Eve Prefect in a perfect world. Sin changes everything that is
why we need a redeemer.
The creation so-called theory also doesn’t realize
something happen between Genesis 1:1 And Genesis 1:2.
The World was created perfect and something made it void:
[Young's Literal Translation] (Genesis 1:2)
the earth hath existed waste and void, and darkness is on the face of the
deep,
and the Spirit of God fluttering on the face of the waters,
