Notes on Romans 8:11-17
Introduction: I started out to bring into play
Romans
8:11-17 as the text. This passage of scripture is
used by various groups as a method to struggle and provide
evidence that a person once saved can be lost or go away from their salvation.
First it is not their salvation.
The Salvation of your soul is a total Plan
and work of the Godhead. God the father sent and
Raised His on born son. God the son is Christ Jesus, and The Holy
Spirit prefects the saints Gives then a new nature. The God the Spirit
seals, put God stamp or seal showing and establishing the believers standing
with God. The Spirit keeps us for eternality.
Would God leave his house or temple? 2 Cor
1:22; Eph 1:13; Eph 4:30; 2 Tim 2:19.
2 Cor 1:21 CEV
And so God makes it possible for you and us to stand firmly together with
Christ.
God is also the one who chose us
22 and put his Spirit in our hearts to show that we belong only to
him.
God is great. God is spelled GoOd
with the O me missing. He takes care of the
person that looses their mind
or comes down with Alzheimer's disease. Once more we as believers
must keep in mind what the Scriptures
edify.
Who does the Saving?
Who Is In Charge?
Whose preparation of Salvation is it, man or God’s?
Whose son was sent into the world to save sinners?
Whose son died, was buried, and arose?
Who gave His life so others might be alive?
The powerfulness of Salvation of man’s soul by a loving
righteous God can not be entirely understood until one surrenders to Christ.
Jesus was Called Jesus before His death, Burial, and Resurrection.
Afterwards He is called Christ or Christ Jesus. In order to comment
and fully understand these verses one Needs
to look back in context Romans 8:1-30
The Third Greatest Gift to man is the printed word of God.
The first is man’s life and a free choice.
The second is the man Christ Jesus; it is also the most essential.
The translators of the KJV set forth a principle.
“ The translators to the reader.
“ This is the word of God which we translate.”
“ We desire that the scriptures too may be understood.”
It seems every translation has theses Goals in mind.
The Devil works at shifting the significance of words
down throughout the ages.
The word Universal has changed. It use to mean the whole of the
sum. Every one that believed the same is one. Now through the world it
means in most people minds one fits all. The muslin and Christian God being
the same god. The God they worship did not die for the world. The followers
hurt others and die for their so-called leaders. Their religious leaders
get someone else to do their bidding.
The Christian leader died for all who will believe
and accept Christ.
God did the dirty work for us. 1 John 4:8.
Another example of word change. Gift originally
mean you were given a present only because someone cared, or loved you.
Now it is something you are given ( the gifts price is figured in, you
are paying for it anyway ) because you buy something else. God’s Gift is
liberated, on the House. You just have to recognize the job Jesus Christ
finished for His father at the cross. Beware of anyone who wants you to
stay with only one translation.
1 John 4:1-8.
If we are to only use one translation what
about the missionaries going to do teach English.
Translations are done so people can understand and be saved. The
Churches in the dark ages sheltered the Holy Word so they could control
their people. In fact they by this practice cause many people to go to
Hell ( the lake of fire ).
Rev
20:15 CEV Anyone whose name wasn't written
in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
The KJV might be the customary; many
fine works are based on the KJV. They the commentators still had to go
to the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. There are things translated
improperly in it.
If you preaching or teaching
will not hold up in the study of other translations or commentaries one
needs to prayerfully study some more.
By no means just take one person’s
word. Study yourself.
2 Tim 2:15 CEV
Do your best to win God's approval as a worker who doesn't need to be ashamed
and who teaches only the true message.

Living by the Power of God’s Spirit
Romans 8:1 If you belong
to Christ Jesus, you won’t be punished.
Facts:
1. Living by the authority of God’s Spirit.
2. What will happen if you are in Christ? The believer will not be condemned
or punished.
The Holy Spirit is bringing things to Paul remembrance. The Holy
Spirit is repeating what
the Apostle John wrote.
John 3:18 CEV
No one who has faith in God's Son will be condemned.
But everyone who doesn't have faith in him has already been condemned for
not having faith in God's only Son.
The Holy Spirit through the men God inspired, tell how to stay away from
condemnation ( Hell ) there is one way and one way only Faith ( believing
)
there is no reference to Good works saving or keeping on doing Good works..
Water Baptism is only a representation ( illustration ). Works
Eph 2:8-9.
Eph 2:8 CEV
You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we
deserve.
This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own.
9 It isn't something you have earned, so there is nothing you
can brag about.
Yes you can brag about you water baptism, your church membership.
3. If you are in Christ you have a new nature ( life, character ).
2 Cor 5:17; Gal 6:15; Eph 2:10; Eph 3:9; Eph 4:24.
There forth you will not walk after the sin nature.
The believer has a new nature.
1 Cor 3:16 CEV
All of you surely know that you are God's temple and that his Spirit lives
in you.
17 Together you are God's holy temple, and God will destroy anyone
who destroys his temple.
18 Don't fool yourselves! If any of you think you are wise in the
things of this world,
you will have to become foolish before you can be truly wise.
There is grave hazard in the way one treats a child of God’s.
Romans 8:2 The Holy Spirit
will give you life that comes from Christ Jesus and will set you
free from sin and death.
Facts:
1. How are the Believer’s are set free? Holy Spirit.
2. Wherever does the Spirit come from? Who sends the Holy Ghost? Christ
Jesus.
3. Spirit of Christ makes the believer free from the Law of sin and death.
The only thing that the Law of Moses did was to uncover guiltiness of a
soul as a sinner.
Moses Law shows us what sin is. It defined sin. The conclusion of sin is
death.
Rom 6:23 CEV Sin pays off with death. But
God's gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ our Lord.
4. The you in various manuscripts is translated me.
Romans 8:3 The
Law of Moses cannot do this, because our selfish desires make the Law weak.
But God set you free when he sent his own Son to be like us sinners and
to be a sacrifice for our sin.
God used Christ’s body to condemn sin.
Facts:
1. Law of Moses cannot save. You have heard of man working their way to
Heaven.
Well that is what the Law of Moses is. Mat
19:20; Luke 18:21
The Flesh will not let us be free from sin. There is too much self in the
flesh.
2. God sent His son as the sacrifice for the sinner and the sins of the
world.
Mark 2:17 CEV Jesus heard them and answered,
"Healthy people don't need a doctor, but sick people do.
I didn't come to invite good people to be my followers. I came to invite
sinners."
3. If one is not saved, they don’t have the Spirit of Christ living in
them God cannot hear
their prayers.
John 9:31 CEV We
know that God listens only to people who love and obey him.
God doesn't listen to sinners.
4. The death, burial, and resurrection condemn sin. Christ took away the
supremacy of sin
in the death of His body.
5. Yet again Faith is mention as the solitary way to be given God’s Salvation.
No mention of Water Baptism, Good works, and being baptized in water, live
an upright Life,
join the church, giving to the poor is all Good works.
They don’t save.
Eze 33:13 Man’s ( his ) Righteousness can
not save.
It is by accepting Christ a saviour. 1 Cor 15:1-11;
John 14:6.
6. Romans 3:20 CEV
God doesn't accept people simply because they obey the Law. No, indeed!
All the Law does is to point out our sin.
21 Now we see how God does make us acceptable to him. The Law and
the Prophets tell
how we become acceptable, and it isn't by obeying the Law of Moses.
Romans 8:4 He
did this, so that we would do what the Law commands by obeying the Spirit
instead of our own desires.
Facts:
1. God did this so the righteousness of the Law could be fulfilled in us
by the Holy Spirit.
Mat 5:17 CEV Don't
suppose that I came to do away with the Law and the Prophets.
I did not come to do away with them, but to give them their full
meaning.
18 Heaven and earth may disappear. But I promise you that not even
a period or comma will ever disappear from the Law.
Everything written in it must happen.
Christ's relation to the law of Moses may be thus summarized:
(1) He was made under the law Gal 4:4.
(2) He lived in perfect obedience to the law John
8:46 Mat 17:5 1 Peter 2:21-23.
(3) he was a minister of the law to the Jews, clearing it from rabbinical
sophistries,
enforcing it in all its pitiless severity upon those who professed to obey
it (e.g.)
Luke 10:25-37 but confirming the promises
made to the fathers under the
Mosaic Covenant Romans 15:8.
(4) He fulfilled the types of the law by His holy life and sacrificial
death Heb 9:11-26.
(5) He bore, vicariously, the curse of the law that the Abrahamic
Covenant might avail all who believe Gal 3:13,14.
(6) He brought out by His redemption all who believe from the place of
servants
under the law into the place of sons Gal 4:1-7.
(7) He mediated by His blood the New Covenant of assurance and grace in
which
all believers stand Romans 5:2 Heb 8:6-13
so establishing the
"law of Christ" Gal 6:2 with its precepts
of higher exaltation made possible
by the indwelling Spirit.
The old Scofield Study Oxford press.
2. We are again to walk after ( with the guide of ) the Spirit of God,
thus obeying the Spirit in us.
3. The Holy Spirit is a person of the Godhead. Verse
16 in the KJV the Spirit is and if they
translated itself a more correct translation would be Himself.
The King James translate the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost. I love
the pose that it is translated
into. One has to know what is intended by the original to understand.
Romans 8:5 People
who are ruled by their desires think only of themselves. Everyone who is
ruled by the Holy Spirit thinks about
spiritual things.
Facts:
1. There is a warfare going on within the flesh ( wicked Flesh ) is fighting
against the Spirit.
Gal 5:17; Gal 6:8.
Gal 5:17 CEV The Spirit and your desires are
enemies of each other.
They are always fighting each other and keeping you from doing what you
feel you should.
18 But if you obey the Spirit, the Law of Moses has no control
over you.
2. Are you ruled by the wishes of the flesh?
A. Is being intoxicated walking after the Spirit of God?
B. Is Smoking walking after the Spirit or the desires of the flesh?
C. Is breaking good laws of government walking after the Spirit?
D. If you do a job just to get by, is that the witness of the Spirit?
Paul made tents.
3. The person that has a lot of spiritual things are they of God?
1 Cor 1:29 CEV God
did all this to keep anyone from bragging to him.
30 You are God's children. He sent Christ Jesus to save us and to
make us wise, acceptable, and holy.
31 So if you want to brag, do what the Scriptures say and brag about
the Lord.
Spiritism is real but is it of God? NO
Remember Saul in the Old Testament the story of the medium
1 John 4:1 CEV Dear friends, don't believe
everyone who claims to have the Spirit of God.
Test them all to find out if they really do come from God.
Many false prophets have already gone out into the world,
4. There is nothing immoral with being prosperous Deu
8:18; Mal 3:10.
Deu 8:17 CEV When you become successful, don't
say, "I'm rich, and I've earned it all myself."
18 Instead, remember that the LORD your God gives you the strength
to make a living.
That's how he keeps the promise he made to your ancestors.
19 But I'm warning you--if you forget the LORD your God and worship
other gods, the LORD will
destroy you, just as he destroyed the nations you fought.
Nothing is wrong with being a ruler, king, and person of power if Spiritual
things
are foremost. God needs to be in your work. Who placed you in that Job?
Just look around. If is not right to lie and cheap people to get rich.
There is nothing wrong with in bargaining. Buy right to make a big profit
is ok
that is business. If you are too high it will not sell.
Your talents and possessions came from whom?
God requests his Ten percent, the rest is offerings.
5. If you are of God you will walk in the Spirit. 1
Cor 2:14.
A person that is not walking in the Spirit but in the ways of sin are either
Lost, under
an false impression ( illusion ) that they are saved or they if saved are
very miserable and
uncertain of their Salvation. Is Sin causing you to lose the joy of your
salvation.
1 Cor 3:16 CEV All
of you surely know that you are God's temple and that his Spirit lives
in you.
17 Together you are God's holy temple, and God will destroy anyone
who destroys his temple.
A saved person died to the Flesh.
Christ died so a believer could have deliverance from the Flesh.
1 Cor 2:13 CEV
Every word we speak was taught to us by God's Spirit, not by human wisdom.
And this same Spirit helps us teach spiritual things to spiritual people.
14 That's why only someone who has God's Spirit can understand spiritual
blessings.
Anyone who doesn't have God's Spirit thinks these blessings are foolish.
15 People who are guided by the Spirit can make all kinds of
judgments,
but they cannot be judged by others.
Romans 8:6 If
our minds are ruled by our desires, we will die. But if our minds are ruled
by the Spirit, we will have life and peace.
Facts:
1. Paul in his writing as well as many of the Old Testament writers inspired
of the Lord,
Paint a vivid image of a soul without in their heart Christ.
The sad fact is a person ( soul ) living in the Flesh is lost to eternality
unless they accept
Christ as saviour while they are living on the earth.
Don’t Let that day Pass you by.
2 Cor 6:2 CEV
In the Scriptures God says, "When the time came, I listened to you, and
when you needed help,
I came to save you." That time has come. This is the day for you to be
saved.
Break away from the eternal punishment in the lake of fire ( Hell ) by
accepting Christ Jesus
as you substitution for the penalty of sin you would have to pay. You would
have to be raised
from the dead. Christ paid the price. Romans 6:23
2. The apostle Paul at the same occasion compares the reception of The
Grace of God.
The Gospel 1 Cor 15:1-11; John 14:6.
3. To live in the Flesh, the power of sin in you life. Remaining in a status
with our Christ is to die
both physical and spiritual, in fact they are already dead spiritually.
The lone less of the absent
of The Comforter is a very empty feeling. Man was not created to live with
out God.
It is your to chose.
4. The opposite is to let the Spirit Rule.
Then the believer has Life and Peace.
The Grammar in the original is present tense. NOW, at this present instant.
Romans 8:7 Our
desires fight against God, because they do not and cannot obey God’s laws.
Facts:
1. A fleshly mind is in opposition to God, An adversary of God.
2. An unsaved person cannot satisfy God.
3. If the Law of God could save, then the worldly mind could not please
God.
Heb 11:6 CEV But
without faith no one can please God. e must believe that God is real
and that he rewards
everyone who searches for him.
4. Are you combating God today? If you have not received Christ as you
Lord,
Saviour, and Master you are a rival ( not aligned with ) of God.
John 3:15 CEV Then everyone who has faith in the Son of Man will
have eternal life.
16 God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only
Son,
so that everyone who has faith
in
him will have eternal life and never really
die.
17 God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people.
He sent him to save them!
18 No one who has faith
in God's Son will be condemned.
But everyone who doesn't have faith in him has already been
condemned for not having faith in God's only Son.
Three of these four verses state that faith solitary is required for Salvation.
Translation after translation makes it so plain that Christ paid the price.
He performed everything that the word of God spelled out must happen
for Christ to be the saviour sent from ( by ) God the Father.
It has been repeated that God wants the Glory. If man has to remain
believing and not lose their ability to reason and think. That would be
man
sharing God’s glory. At the Least one could call it Conditional Salvation. If
man had to do his part then God would have to share the glory.
Water Baptism, church membership, or good work was necessary to save
or to keep us saved God would be sharing the glory with man.
Romans 8:8 If
we follow our desires, we cannot please God.
Facts:
1. Plain in God’s word if you are not saved you cannot please God.
A. If you save a person physical life you still cannot please God.
B. Being Good to someone will not please God.
C. No Good and righteous act or work will save. Eph
2:8-9
We have no right to even say ( boast ) that we live a good life. The spirit
of
Christ makes us what we are.
Eph 2:7 CEV God
did this so that in the future world he could show how truly good
and kind he is to us because of what Christ Jesus has done.
8 You were saved by faith
in God, who treats us much better than
we deserve.
This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own.
9 It isn't something you have earned, so there is nothing you can
brag about.
10 God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always
wanted us to live.
That's why he sent Christ to make us what we are.
The fact that a decision is necessary in order to become a Christian is
an idea quite foreign
to many people. Some imagine that they are already Christians because they
were born
in a Christian country… Others suppose that, having had a Christian upbringing,
and having
been taught to accept the Christian creed and Christian standards of behaviour,
nothing
further is required of them. But whatever his parentage and upbringing,
every responsible adult
is obliged to make up his own mind for or against Christ.
We cannot remain neutral. Nor can anybody else settle the matter for us.
We must decide for ourselves……
We may concede that the evidence for the deity of Jesus is Compelling,
even
conclusive, and that he was in fact the Son of God; we may believe that
he came
and died to be the Saviour of the world;
We may also admit that we are sinners and need such a Saviour. But none
of
these things makes us a Christian, nor do all of them together. To believe
certain
facts about the person and work of Christ is a necessary preliminary,
but true faith will translate such mental belief into a decisive act of
trust.
Intellectual conviction must lead to personal commitment.

2. Christ said too turn loose of self and take up His cross.
Mat 16:24; Mark 8:34; Mark 10:25; Luke 9:23.
3. The Name of Christ to the Jews means He is the promised Messiah. He
was sent of
God the Father. Died, buried, and raised from the dead.
1 John 2:12 CEV
Children, I am writing you, because your sins have been forgiven
in the name of Christ.
How has God’s Children been Forgiven? Christ.
By faith. Nothing is mention about Water Baptism, or other
works of man’s righteousness.
A. Christ gave His life. No one took it. John
19:30
B. Sheep dumb Isa 53:7; Acts 8:32
C. Christ said it is finished John 19:30
Romans 8:9 You are
no longer ruled by your desires, but by God’s Spirit, who lives in you.
People who don’t have the Spirit of Christ in them don’t belong to him.
Facts:
1. Paul through the Holy Spirit states that his readers are not in the
flesh.
The flesh no longer rules over them.
2. He states they are in the Spirit ( Holy Ghost ).
3. Repeatedly Paul affirms the Spirit of God dwells or better lives in
each Child of
God.
4. The writer inspired of God ( 2 Tim 3:16 )
writes if you don’t have this
Spirit of Christ you don’t belong to God the father that gives them to
the
Son of God.
John 10:26 CEV But since you are not my sheep,
you don't believe me.
27 My sheep know my voice,
and I know them. They follow me,
28 and I give them eternal life, so that they will never
be lost.
No one can snatch them out of my hand.
Do you know God’s Spirit is dwelling in you?
5. Jesus said, follow me.
Mat 4:19; Mat 8:22; Mat 9:9; Mat 16:24; Mat 19:21;
Mark 2:14; Mark 8:34; Mark 10:21; Luke 5:27; Luke 9:23, 59;
John 1:43; John 21:22
6. Paul, John, Mark, Luke, Matthew, James, Peter, all of the apostles and
the Old
Testament Prophets knew their salvation was secure because the Spirit of
God
dwelt in them ( quicken ). The Holy Spirit lives within each born again
believer
in this age. God Spirit is poured out on every believers in this age. Joel
2:28-29
7. Yes you can know you are saved God’s words verify we can know.
1 John 5:10-13; John 10:27.
8. Spirit of God and Spirit of Christ are the same.
John 10:30; Romans 8:9; 1 Peter 1:11
John 10:30 CEV and I am one with the Father.
9. Believers are preserved by the Spirit.
Eph 1:13; Eph 4:30.
10. God is a Spirit John 4:24.
11. Spirit Gives life Gen 2:7; Romans 8:11.
12. Spirit makes intervention Romans 8:26.
13. Grieve not the Spirit of God Eph 4:30.
14. Quench not the Spirit 1 Thess 5:19
We as believers can Grieve and Quench the spirit to the point
God’s present cannot be felt. You lose that assurance.
If you sinned against your human father you are still always
will be his son, but your fellowship will be greatly hurt.
Read Luke 15:11-32 the lost son.
15. It is so distressing to be saved and lose the fellowship and rewards
of God.
1 Cor 3:13-15.
1 Cor 3:11 CEV
because Christ is the only foundation.
12 Whatever we build on that foundation will be tested by fire on
the day of judgment.
Then everyone will find out if we have used gold, silver, and precious
stones, or wood, hay,
13 (SEE 3:12)
14 We will be rewarded if our building is left standing.
15 But if it is destroyed by the fire, we will lose everything.
Yet we ourselves will be saved, like someone escaping from flames.
16 All of you surely know that you are God's temple and that his
Spirit lives in you.
Because in verse 11 the only foundation is
Christ.
Again no mention of church membership, good works, or water baptism
just only making a decisive act to place the trust for your soul and life
in the finished work of Christ.
John 14:6 CEV
"I am the way, the truth, and the life!" Jesus answered.
"Without me, no one can go to the Father.
The more anything is repeated to more significant.
1 Tim 2:4 CEV God wants everyone to
be saved and to know the whole truth, which is,
5 There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who can
bring us to God. Jesus was truly human, and he gave himself to rescue all
of us.
Heard a song the other day that called Christ Jesus the
Man in the middle I think that does a good Job of
explaining what Christ is doing today. It tells to story
of the security of our soul, the reason God doesn’t want
man to blow his own horn. I has to be God that does the
saving, God has to accomplish the keeping. I being man could
boast I water baptized this many souls into God’s church.
That may be ok for the Local visible church. We are not water
baptized into God’s invisible church. I say invisible because
only God can see into a person’s heart. Only God knows His
sheep.
Luke 16:15; Acts 1:24; Gal 4:6; Eph 3:17.
Eph 3:17 CEV
and that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith.
Stand firm and be deeply rooted in his love.
Romans 8:10 But Christ
lives in you. So you are alive because God has accepted you,
even though your bodies must die because of your sins.
Facts:
1. Paul at this juncture begins once more to states the positive.
He has been
telling about what happens to the lost. The lost are the ones in bondage
of sin.
2. If the world sees you are acting like the lost, most likely you are
bound by the
slavery of sin. According to the bible if you don’t know that you are a
child of God
you are in the slavery of sin once saved your body is dead to sin. Then
are you
bound for Hell? The Lost in the end will never see God or your loved ones
again.
No more tears. Rev 21:4.
3. You who are in Christ, your body is dead to sin. The Holy Spirit is
God.
Sin separates us from God. The Spirit of Christ dwells in the believer.
Sin will not cause the Spirit to leave but it will smother to the point
no one can see that you are a child of God. God chastises the disobedient.
Mat 25:14-23 ; John 1:12
Heb 12:4 CEV None of you have yet been hurt in your battle against sin.
5 But you have forgotten that the Scriptures say to God's children,
"When the Lord punishes you, don't make light of it,
and when he corrects you, don't be discouraged.
6 The Lord corrects the people he loves and disciplines those he
calls his own."
7 Be patient when you are being corrected!
This is how God treats his children.
Don't all parents correct their children?
4. Sin kills the body. It degraded the whole of creation.
5. The believer lives because of Christ righteousness.
6. The ones that are saved know Christ. Heb 6:12.
Chapter eleven is the faith chapter of Hero’s of Faith in the Old Testament.
Their faith not works was counted for righteousness.
Gen 15:6 CEV
Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD was pleased with him.
You cannot please God unless you are righteous. Believing in
YHWH (Jehovah) – Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:22 CEV God treats everyone alike.
He accepts people only
because they have faith
in Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:11 Yet God raised
Jesus to life! God’s Spirit now lives in you, and he will raise you to
life by his Spirit.
Facts:
1. Who raised up Jesus from the dead? 1 Cor 15:52
The Spirit of God.
2. If the Holy Spirit ( the comforter ) lives in every believer and the
same Spirit raised
Christ from the dead, can He not raise the believer from the dead? Yes.
Can good works raise the believer from the dead? No.
We do good works because we have the Spirit bearing witness with our spirit.
3. How powerful is this Spirit of God, God the Holy Spirit?
A. He performed the work of Creation. Gen 1:2
B. God spoke to Job out of a whirlwind. Cp portrait of the Spirit of God.
God asked Job how comes man knows more than God? Job
38:1-8
God asked where was Job when God laid the foundation of the earth?
How could Job (man) know more than God since God created man?
Gen 1:26-30; Gen 2:7.
4. Have you let Christ take the burden of Sin from your life?
Romans 8:12 My dear friends,
we must not live to satisfy our desires.
Facts:
1. Are you obligated to your flesh for anything?
a. It is just going to harm you.
b. Get sick.
c. Get hungry
e. Get thirsty.
John 4:13 CEV Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will get
thirsty again.
14 But no one who drinks the water I give will ever be thirsty again.
The water I give is like a flowing fountain that gives eternal life."
f. The old flesh is going to die physically anyhow be cause of sin.
If you
are living in the pleasure of sin for a little season you are dead spiritually.
h. Die on you because it is corrupted by sin.
2. To follow Christ there must be the denial of self.
1 Peter 2:11 CEV Dear
friends, you are foreigners and strangers on this earth.
So I beg you not to surrender to those desires that fight against you.
Titus 2:12; Phil 2:4;
Gal 5:24 CEV And because we belong to Christ
Jesus, we have killed
our selfish feelings and desires.
25 God's Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit.
3. We as believers are debtors to Christ. Christ paid the Price.
Romans 8:13 If you
do, you will die. But you will live, if by the help of God’s Spirit you
say “No” to your desires.
Facts:
1. If you live by the flesh you will die because of sin.
This is not talking about a saved person losing the Salvation of their
Soul which is a Gift unmerited of God through Christ Jesus, kept and sealed
by
The Holy Spirit.
Paul is showing a contrast between a carnal minded life and a life lead
by the
Spirit of Christ.
Mat 7:17 CEV A good tree produces good fruit,
and a bad tree produces bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce
good fruit.
19 Every tree that produces bad fruit will be chopped down and burned.
20 You can tell who the false prophets are by their deeds.
21 Not everyone who calls me their Lord will get into the kingdom
of heaven.
Only the ones who obey my Father in heaven will get in.
22 On the day of judgment many will call me their Lord. They will
say,
"We preached in your name, and in your name we forced out demons and worked
many miracles."
23 But I will tell them, "I will have nothing to do with you! Get
out of my sight, you evil people!"
Rev 20:15
2. If you have the Spirit of Christ ( you have to accept, put the trust
of soul in the
finished work of Christ Jesus to receive the Spirit of God. ) He will help
you.
a. By the Spirit, the believer is justified there by kept.
b. The Spirit in dwells you. Lives in you.
c. He the Spirit seals your soul.
d. Keeps you for the promise.
e. Gives the believer power to over come and pray.
f. The Holy Spirit delivers you from sin.
3. God’s Spirit living in you says no to the flesh.
Col 3:3 CEV You
died, which means that your life is hidden with Christ, who sits beside
God.
4 Christ gives meaning to your life, and when he appears, you will
also appear with him in glory.
5 Don't be controlled by your body. Kill every desire for the wrong
kind of sex.
Don't be immoral or indecent or have evil thoughts. Don't be greedy, which
is the same as worshiping idols.
6 God is angry with people who disobey him by doing these things.
7 And that is exactly what you did, when you lived among people who
behaved in this way.
8 But now you must stop doing such things. You must quit being angry,
hateful, and evil.
You must no longer say insulting or cruel things about others.
9 And stop lying to each other. You have given up your old way of
life with its habits.
10 Each of you is now a new person. You are becoming more and more
like your Creator,
and you will understand him better.
Powerful words.
Romans 8:14 Only
those people who are led by God’s Spirit are his children.
Facts:
1. Don’t take this the wrong way. I believe people should think for
themselves.
Schools are great. One goes to learn. Thomas Edison was exhibiting his
light bulb.
This young College Graduate approached Edison about his light bulb. The
young man said to
Edison, “I know you could not have used tungsten because it would not have
worked.
” Edison reply was this, “young man if I had known that I would not have
invented the light
bulb.” Some professor had told to student it would not work.
Edison added vacuum.
He also used bamboo.
With all of that said Go to school, but use you Mind with God’s Holy Spirit.
Fill yourself up with the knowledge of God. Many pastors start using outlines
to preach
and teach that is a good way. But God has given you a talent of the Style
that works
with you. Do not be unable to find your God given style. Study the preacher
of old. They did a lot
of repeating, explain The Gospel in ways that souls could under stand God
word still
works today. John 1:1-4
Paul is a good example of a proclaimer of the Gospel. Something you use
to see that was very
effected was in a sermon or lesson, the theme was repeated, driven home.
The Speaker would
speak about it in one illustration and then use another. Most preachers
today say it once if you
don’t get it then sorry that is what tape recorders are for they say.
2. How many times is it repeated about the importance of God’s Spirit dwelling
in you?
The fact it is continually repeated in God’s Holy word shows how Great
it is.
Do you know God’s Spirit is there giving you the assurance of your Salvation?
The Spirit bares witness that you are a child of God. He is called the
Comforter.
Is their peace in your heart? Believers have peace in time of trouble.
Even if they are
persecuted. Acts 7:59.
3. If you don’t have this Spirit you are lost. You belong to your father
the Devil.
John 8:44
4. If you are lead by the Spirit you are His.
Do you have something inside you, a story you need to tell a dying world
about.
Then DO IT DON’T let people stop you.
When you share the word of God you are going to have people criticize you.
Even so-called Christian. The religious leaders of Christ day questioned
Him.
They nailed Him to a cross. It was foretold in the scriptures.
Acts 8:1-3. Saul set out to kill Christians.
The word of God is powerful. It use with the power of Spirit is awesome,
it convicts.
Heb 4:12 CEV What God has said isn't only
alive and active! It is sharper than any double-edged sword.
His word can cut through our spirits and souls and through our joints and
marrow,
until it discovers the desires and thoughts of our hearts.
13 Nothing is hidden from God! He sees through everything, and we
will have to tell him the truth.
John 16:8 CEV The Spirit will come and show
the people of this world the truth about sin and God's justice and the
judgment.
9 The Spirit will show them that they are wrong about sin,
because they didn't have faith in me.
If your belief is not of faith it is sin. Romans
14:23 b.
Water baptism, church membership and Good works are not of Faith.
5. We have a relationship as Father would to his son.
There is only one begotten ( only one born of women with God the Father.
)
The Son of God Christ Jesus, His father is God the Father, God the Holy
Spirit does the work.
Born of a sinless Virgin, but still has all of the desires of the flesh
of man.
His father being sinless, Christ did not inherit the sins Adam put on the
human race.
Oh how great a Salvation God provides the way.
Gen 3:21 CEV Then the LORD God made
clothes out of animal skins for the man and his wife.
Shedding of Blood.
Heb 9:22 CEV The Law says that almost everything
must be sprinkled with blood,
and no sins can be forgiven unless blood is offered.
We must be born into the human race. Born of the water.
Also we must be born again ( Born of the Spirit ) John
3:3 to become a
Child of God John 1:12
John 1:12 CEV Yet some people accepted
him and put their faith in him.
So he gave them the right to be the children of God.
13 They were not God's children by nature or because of any
human desires. God himself was the one who made them his children.
This verse is so powerful I am going to present also in the KJV.
John 1:12 KJV But as many as received him,
to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but
of God.
Sorry to say if water baptism was to be included in our Salvation why is
it left out?
That would be the same as Good works, the will of the flesh.
One translation say God Himself was the one. The other says of God. Not
the will of man.
Does God baptize you with water or a man. The KJV says even to them that
believe
on His name, this leaves everything else out.
a. Not by blood of animals family, by nature.
b. Not by anything you do.
c. Not by what other men do.
God plan is God doing all of the work and man accepting.
Romans 8:15 God’s
Spirit doesn’t make us slaves who are afraid of him. Instead, we become
his children and call him our Father.
Facts:
1. Would God say He has made us free and then put us in bondage to the
Law?
John 32-36
The believer will Never Thirst. John 10:13-14,
24.
2. Instead of bondage, God makes us His children by the Spirit of
adoption.
Given to us that believe by God the Father in the course of the work of
Christ.
3. In the Laws and customs of the Old Testament Times the first-born got
a double portion
of what belonged to the father. The believer is Joint-heirs equally,
sharing.
4. Paul was talking to the Romans. He used with the supremacy of the indwelling
Spirit,
examples the Gentiles understood. To be effective in your teaching and
soul winning,
you must use examples that your readers or listeners can relate too.
Adoption was not very common with the Jews. With the Romans it was very
popular.
5. This adoption places the believer in a close father and son relation.
A. Father and sons along with mother and daughter all share things that
they cannot
share with anyone else.
B. I have heard people say I cannot love a child that I would adopt. That
is wrong.
Just try it. If you love the child that child will love you back.
Once the child
is adopted, the child is yours forever. The Child Becomes a Family Member.
No one
can change that fact.
C. A child never fully understands the love a parent ( Father ) has for
a child Until the Father
wife present him with a child.
D. My wife and I have always tried to keep our children as our friends.
No greater Love of a friend than to lay down his life. John
15:13
If a child needs help they Go to their parents.
6. The idea expressed here is we become a child of God with all of the
privilege as a
biological father. Better translated My ( our ) Father.
7. The closeness in the KJV is so great that the translators of the KJV
(“Abba" is the Syro-Chaldaic word for "Father"; and the Greek word for
that
is added, not surely to tell the reader that both mean the same thing,)
Robert Jamieson, A. R. Fausset and David Brown Commentary Critical and
Explanatory on the Whole Bible, E-word.net
This is so there is never any misunderstanding of who does the saving of
a
person’s soul. The soul is shown to belong to the Father. A Father protects
his children. God the Father through the price Christ paid does the adopting.
Man can only do the accepting of the finished work of Christ. Then at that
moment the Holy Spirit completely immerses the heart of the believer.
In Jesus' time a child did not become their own person until they turned
thirty years old. This is why Jesus’ ministry started at His age of thirty.
8. A child use to gain knowledge of everything from his father until the
past one
hundred years. The personality and skills of the father were passed
from
generation to generation. Like father, like son. True Christians with the
help of
the indwelling Holy Ghost ought to live like the Father and the son’s examples.
The believer should be a witness. Christian were first called Christian
because
they acted Christ like.
Acts 11:26 CEV He found Saul and brought
him to Antioch, where they
met with the church for a whole year and taught many of its people.
There in Antioch the Lord's followers were first called Christians.
Romans 8:16 God’s
Spirit makes us sure that we are his children.
Facts:
1. The CEV version translates the subject matter so unmistakably. “Makes
us Sure”
2. This is The KJV version.
Romans 8:16 KJV
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children
of God:
3. The KJV tells the reader how this is done. Itself should be translated
Himself.
God the Spirit is a person. The third person of the Godhead.
4. Children = Grk. Teknon
Meaning one born, a child, placing as a son.
Cp. Verse 14 sons in the KJV the idea of adoption
Romans
8:15, 23; Eph 1:5
5. When one is born again ( born of the Spirit ) ( regenerated ) they obtain
the nature of
a child of God.
But in adoption the believer receives the equal portion of the Son of God
with all
of the benefits of being God’s the Father only begotten son.
Each believer awaits the redemption of the body. Romans
3:23; Eph 1:14;
1 Thess 4:14-17; 1 John 3:2.
6. Yet Jesus Christ says he is standing knocking at the door of our
lives, waiting.
Notice that He is standing at the door, not pushing it; Speaking to us,
not shouting…
But why does Jesus Christ want to come in? We know the answer already.
He wants to be both our Saviour and our Lord.
He died to be our Saviour. If we receive him, he will be able to apply
us personally
all the benefits of his death. Once inside the house, He will renovate,
redecorate
and refurbish it. That is, he will cleanse and forgive us; our past will
be blotted out.
He promise too to eat with us and allow us to eat with Him.
The phrase describes the joy of His companionship. He not only gives Himself
to us
but ask us to give ourselves to him. We have been strangers; now we are
friends.
There has been a closed door between us; now we are seated at the same
table.
Basic Christianity by John R. W. Stott

Romans 8:17 His
Spirit lets us know that together with Christ we will be given what God
has promised.
We will also share in the glory of Christ, because we have suffered with
him.
Facts:
1. How do we know that the believers are heirs? The word of God and the
Holy
Spirit dwelling inside you tells the believer they will get what God has
promised.
2. There is so much importance in being heir, Joint-heirs with Christ.
We will share in the Glory
of Christ. The Spirit uses Paul’s writings to make it understandable.
3. Joint-heir, equally even though Christ is the First born.
4. Christ never promised His followers they would have an easy life in
this world.
John 15:18; 1 John 3:13.
Eph 6:10 CEV
Finally, let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong.
11 Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself
against the devil's tricks.
12 We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces
and
authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual
world.
13 So put on all the armor that God gives. Then when that evil day
comes,
you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will
still be standing firm.
5. Many today are trying to gain the world. What good is it to gain the
world and lost your soul
for eternality. Mat 16:26; Mark 8:36; Luke 9:25
6. We suffer with Christ. If we suffer them we are glorified together.
A Wonderful Future for God’s People
Romans 8:18 I am
sure that what we are suffering now cannot compare with the glory that
will be shown to us.
Facts:
1. The most awful suffering cannot be compared to the glory revealed to
us. It cannot be even be
compared to the most excellent we could have here on earth.
a. Joint-heirs. Romans 8:17
b. Be like Christ. 1 John 3:2
Romans 8:19 In
fact, all creation is eagerly waiting for God to show who his children
are.
Facts:

2. At that day all good and evil will know who is God. Romans
14:11; Phil 2:10.
3. God’s children know now that they a God’s children.
a. I lead a six year old child to the Lord showed and told him from God’s
word how to be saved.
Before he knew in his heart he was bound for Hell. Afterwards he knew he
was
Heaven bound. This is one of the strengths of mission work, The souls
get saved,
and then the Holy Spirit lives inside. No one can understand until
they make the decisive
act of making Christ both the Lord and Master. It is not enough to have
a head knowledge,
It has to be with the heart.
b. The change in these people’s looks, countenance.
The tranquility in his or her hearts tells anyone a good transform has
happen on their
inside. The Spirit of Christ changes from the inside out.
c. There are metal boxes one buys to put candles inside. The candle inside
is more splendid
inside than out.
A light that shines from the inside out is harder to put out. Outsidethe
winds of the
world can dim it any time.
Romans 8:20
Meanwhile, creation is confused, but not because it wants to be confused.
God made it this way in the Hope,
Facts:
1. All creation was and still is affected by sin.
2. The whole of creation will share in the purifying power of God and Christ
redemptive work
on the cross.
The Gospel is so great. Heb 2:3
Heb 2:2 CEV The
message spoken by angels proved to be true,
and all who disobeyed or rejected it were punished as they deserved.
3 So if we refuse this great way of being saved, how can we
hope to escape?
The Lord himself was the first to tell about it,
and people who heard the message proved to us that it was true.
4 God himself showed that his message was true by working all kinds
of powerful miracles and wonders.
He also gave his Holy Spirit to anyone he chose to.
Can man redeem all of creation? Everything man has done has made matters
worse.
Dr M. R. Dehan stated that God is letting man and the Devil prove they
cannot do
the right thing. Everything they do makes it worse.
Read the book of Job.
Romans 8:21 that
creation would be set free from decay and would share in the glorious freedom
of his children.
Facts:
1. Creation will be set free from the fester of sin and will share in the
glorious freedom of
God’s children.
Romans 8:22 We
know that all creation is still groaning and is in pain, like a woman about
to give birth.
Facts:
1. Sin and man wanting to be superior to God ruined paradise.
2. God cannot bless where there is sin.
Romans 8:23 The Spirit
makes us sure about what we will be in the future. But now we groan silently,
while we wait
for God to show that we are his children. This means that our bodies
will also be set free.
Facts:
1. God makes us confident that God is able to keep, not something man can
do.
Through Christ Jesus sending His Spirit makes sure we are saved and we
know we are in
God’s hands.
John 10:26 CEV But since you are not my sheep,
you don't believe me.
27 My sheep know my voice, and I know them. They follow me,
28 and I give them eternal life, so that they will never be lost.
No one can snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father gave them to me, and he is greater than all
others. No one can snatch them from his hands,
30 and I am one with the Father.
If God makes positive we are saved then He can keep us as believers saved.
2. Christ was the First and only begotten Son of God John
3:16. The First Fruit.
3. The believers are the first Fruits of the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit,
the third person of
the Godhead.
These three are in one.
a. I am a husband.
b. I am a Father.
c. I am a born again believer.
If one talks about each one ( person ) it will sound like three dissimilarity
person,
but they are all me. In each I have a difference function.
In each I perform a distinct Task.
4. Our bodies will also be free. ( redemption of the body )
Romans 8:24 And this hope
is what saves us. But if we already have what we hope for, there is no
need to keep on hoping.
Facts:
1. The Greek and Hebrew words for Salvation imply the ideas of deliverance,
safety,
preservation, healing, and soundness.
Salvation is in three tense.

3. Will be saved, the believer, at the Lord’s return, from all bodily infirmities
that is
the result of sin and God’s curse upon the sinful world. Each person's
Illness may not

on to all of creation.
Romans 8:18-23; 1 Cor 15:42-44.
At this moment will be brought into entire conformity to Christ.
Romans 13:11; Heb 10:36; 1 Peter 1:5; 1 John 3:2.
Salvation is by grace through faith, is a free gift and wholly without
works.
Romans 3:27-28; Roman 4:1-8; Romans 6:23; Eph 2:8.
The divine order is:
First Salvation by Faith.
Then works because you are saved. Eph 2:9-10; Titus
3:5-8.
From the New Scofield Reference Bible.
Oxford university Press, New York 1967 ed. Page 1211 note 1.
2. This is not a Hope the believer keeps hoping for. This is a not a dream
hope.
It is a done deal. Romans 8:25; Heb 11:1.
It is more of a wait till the end.
1 Peter 1:13.
Heb 11:1 CEV
Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot
see.
2 It was their faith that made our ancestors pleasing to God.
3 Because of our faith, we know that the world was made at God's
command.
We also know that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen.
The word in Genesis 1:1 created comes from the Hebrew word
[Heb. 1254] bara' (baw-raw').
This word carries the idea of making out of nothing, that which cannot
been seen.
(absolutely) to create;create (creator);dispatch
3. We are saved By Hope. ( Faith – Trust )
4. This is hope for something we have not seen; our hope is not the hope
of something
we may or may not get.
The Spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are children of
God.
We know by faith so we stay ready and wait positively.
Romans 8:25
however, we hope for something we have not yet seen, and we patiently wait
for it.
Facts:
1. Verse speaks for it self.
Romans 8:26 in certain
ways we are weak, but the Spirit is here to help us. For example, when
we don’t know what To pray for,
the Spirit prays for us in ways that cannot be put into words.
Facts:
1. The Spirit prays when we need prayers without us asking. He makes intercession.
If we need legal help or have to go to court we get lawyer because he knows
how to plead
our case.
Christ sets on God the Father right hand doing arbitration for the believers.
Not the preacher of the church, Mary, or Baptism only Christ sending the
Spirit
can be the intercessor on our behalf.
2. It is great for the pastor and the church members to remember you in
their prayers.
There is strength in numbers. Heb 10:25
Mat 18:16; Mat 18:20; 1 Cor 14:29; 2 Cor 13:1; Heb 10:28.
The prayer of a righteous man avail much.
James 5:16 CEV
If you have sinned, you should tell each other what you have done.
Then you can pray for one another and be healed. The prayer of an
innocent person is powerful, and it can help a lot.
Romans 8:27
All of our thoughts are known to God. He can understand what is in the
mind of the Spirit, as the Spirit prays
for God’s people.
Facts:
1. Here is the classic of another Great teacher like Christ. Paul
again stresses
the meaning of being saved and letting the Spirit do His work. The Holy
Spirit
cannot dwell inside you if you are lost.
2. God knows our thoughts.
3. God the Holy Spirit understands. If you pray in the Spirit you have
to be praying
in the will of God. 1 John 2:17; 1 John 5:14
1 John 5:13 CEV All of you have faith in the
Son of God,
and I have written to let you know that you have eternal life.
14 We are certain that God will hear our prayers when we ask for
what pleases him.
15 And if we know that God listens when we pray, we are sure that
our prayers have already been answered.
Romans 8:28 We know that God
is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are
the ones God has chosen
for his purpose,
Facts:
1. Here is one of the most encouraging verses in the bible.
2. Again the bible is full the many things that God allowed to happen.
Things happen for a reason for a believer. A flat tire gives the believer
another contact to
tell the story of Jesus.
3. If we kept our eyes, minds, hearts with The leads and fills of the Spirit
will lead you to
spread the Gospel.
4. Car troubles may be happening because there is a soul that needs touching.
Don’t pass it by you may miss a blessing.
5. My wife and I had a friend a pastors wife. He died of Cancer. She through
her many Doctors
and hospital visits touched so many people’s hearts. While they would be
running
test she would be witnessing to them.
She got sick at another time not this cancer. They were in between churches.
The church they were attending was having problems about to split. My friend
didn’t know
they were having problems. All of the members started to visit Goldie in
the Hospital room.
This became a meeting place. The Lord used this as a time to settle the
difference.
The church found a pastor other than My friends.
See you have to let God use you. You have to be saved before God can use
you.
Romans 8:29 and he has always
known who his chosen ones would be. He had decided to let them become like
his own Son,
so that his Son would be the first of many children.
Facts:
1. If we are saved we will conformed to the image of His Son. Even if he
takes us home early.
2. Christ is the first of what we will be like.
Romans 8:30 God
then accepted the people he had already decided to choose, and he has shared
his glory with them.
Facts:
1. 2 Thess 2:12 CEV All of them will
be punished,
because they would rather do evil than believe the truth.
13 My friends, the Lord loves you, and it is only natural for us
to thank God for you.
God chose you to be the first ones to be saved. His Spirit made you holy,
and you put your faith in the truth.
14 God used our preaching as his way of inviting you to share in
the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Them he also called. Called by his Spirit to become Christians.
3. A better word for predestinate would be called. Or to meet
a certain need God’s Plan
of Salvation, which we are to conform to the image of Christ.
Also could be included we are joint-heirs and be in glory with Christ.
God before the earth was chose how all of creation is to be redeemed.
Romans 8:31 What can we
say about all this? If God is on our side, can anyone be against us?
Facts:
1. Powerful, The eight chapter of Romans like a mid-evil castle and a one
room
house. There is so much Doctrine in this chapter.
God the Father,
God the Holy Spirit, and
God the Son is all spoken of in this chapter.
2. God the Father is seen as Judge (vv. 30, 33), as Benefactor
(v. 32), as Ruler of history (vv. 28-30), as
the Lord who searches hearts (v. 27), calls men (v. 28), justifies and

God the Son is revealed as the Firstborn among many brothers (v. 29), the
Deliverer (vv. 1-4), the
Indweller of His people (v. 10) the Lord with whom we are to be glorified

God the Spirit is gloriously presented as the Source of power (v. 4), life,
and peace (v. 6), as the
Lifegiver (v. 11), and Indweller (vv. 9, 11). He leads (v. 14), witnesses
to our spirits (v. 16), and
intercedes (v. 26). He is the Spirit of our son ship (v. 15) and the First
fruits of our redemption (v. 23).
The chapter speaks of men as well. The man devoid of the Spirit cannot
please God (vv. 6-8). The
Christian knows infirmity (v. 26) but may live by the Spirit (v. 13) as
God’s heir (v. 17); moreover,
his body, as well as his spirit, is involved in God’s plan of redemption
(v. 23); and, best of all, he is
to be conformed to the likeness of God’s Son (v. 29).
The opening verses of the chapter summarize chs. 5-8. The closing verses
are a rock upon which
assurance may stand forever. Yet this assurance is accomplished by moral
means; for God’s great
objective which must be realized is for His children “to be conformed to
the image of his Son.”

3. I you have God as your Saviour who can be against you. In other words
what has
moral man to say about or to do with forgiving sin. Christ died for that
right.
If a priest, pastor, another man or ceremony says they or that can forgive
sins
Have they become God?
Romans 8:32 God did not
keep back his own Son, but he gave him for us. If God did this, won't he
freely give us everything else?
Facts:
1. God didn’t keep his own Son back. Christ suffered and died for our sins.
Luke 5:32 CEV
I didn't come to invite good people to turn to God. I came to invite sinners."
2. If God the Father gave His most precious Son what else has He got worth
with holding from
His believers. With in God’s power He can give us anything.
Mat 10:28-31; Luke 12:5-7.
3. God freely gave us His Son. Christ did the work, we have to do accepting.
Romans 8:33 If God says
his chosen ones are acceptable to him, can anyone bring charges against
them?
Facts:
1. Who makes the decision to accept the believers’ souls? God,
You have to accept the finished work.
2. Who is your lawyer in heaven? God the Father right hand Man. Our Advocate.
1 Tim 2:5 CEV There is only one
God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who
can bring us to God.
Jesus was truly human, and he gave himself to rescue all of us.
3. If God through Christ Jesus is the only way to Heaven. God does the
accepting on the
Grounds of Christ. Who has the power to say they can’t go?
God has all of the power. Christ purchased the redemptive price. If God
says the soul
he called are acceptable, who can say they are not.
4. Is man more powerful than God? Is God so week that man has to help in
the saving of
their soul. God says in His word He doesn’t want anyone else boasting.
5. Is the Devil and his angels more powerful than God. Job
1:12; Job 2:3.
The Devil had to have God’s permission before he could harm Job.
6. There is only one God, the God of Abraham. The I AM!
Romans 8:34 Or can anyone
condemn them? No indeed! Christ died and was raised to life, and now he
is at God's right side,
speaking to him for us.
Facts:
1. Will Christ condemn the believers?
2. Look how Paul with the Holy Spirit inspiring him. Christ that died,
better yet
He is risen, A live.
3. Where does Christ set?
In Heaven on God right hand. The right side of the throne.
The right side is the place of power and honor.
4. Christ speaks for us and in our behalf.
Romans 8:35 Can anything
separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble, suffering, and hard times,
or hunger and nakedness,
or danger and death?
Facts:
1. Paul asks a Question. Someone said a great teacher drives his or her
students to think,
use their minds.
2. Paul never asked a question he didn’t know the answer before he asked
the question.
3. If anyone or thing could separate us it would be Christ.
Christ has already said we would never perish.
John 3:16; John 10:28; John 11:50; Heb 11:31; 1 John
5:13.
4. Paul was persuaded Christ was able to keep
what he had committed to Him.
Romans 8:38; Heb 6:9.
2 Tim 1:12 CEV That's why I am suffering
now. But I am not ashamed!
I know the one I have faith in, and I am sure that he
can guard until the last day what he has trusted me with.
13 Now follow the example of the correct teaching I gave you,
and let the faith and love of Christ Jesus be your model.
Romans 8:36 It is exactly
as the Scriptures say, "For you we face death all day long. We are like
sheep on their way to be butchered."
Facts:
1. Ones heart is really blessed when the scriptures repeats scriptures,
it adds to the importance.
Cp Isa 53:6
2. We on our own live in sin without Christ or like Sheep headed to the
butcher.
Romans 8:37 In everything
we have won more than a victory because of Christ who loves us.
Facts:
1. We as believers in Christ are victorious over sin because of Christ.
2. Why did He ( Christ ) do it? For us. HE LOVES US.
Romans 8:38 I am sure
that nothing can separate us from God's love--not life or death, not angels
or spirits, not the present or the future,
Romans 8:39 and not powers
above or powers below.
Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us in Christ
Jesus our Lord!
Facts:
1. These two verses make one complete sentence.
2. Of the twenty-seven books of the New Testament Paul wrote we recognize
thirteen and
a possible one extra.
I have said one of the first things a preacher, teacher, and/or soul winner
should have,
one and important thing in their hearts settled. Paul knew because of the
Spirit in his being.
This Holy Spirit persuaded his own spirit that Paul himself was a Child
of God.
3. By this indwelling Spirit Paul knew God was Going to do the holding.
Paul knew he himself could let go.
Christ promised to never let go.
John 10:27 CEV
My sheep know my voice, and I know them. They follow me,
28 and I give them eternal life, so that they will never be lost.
No one can snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father gave them to me, and he is greater than all others.
No one can snatch them from his hands,
30 and I am one with the Father.
In concluding I hope you have made it this far.
Some of the things Paul was writing about were numerous. In
this one chapter Paul covered a lot of territory. From God the father
to the death of God Son Christ Jesus.
Many before Christ arose from the Grave called Him Jesus Christ.
Mat
16:16. They believed He was the
Christ. After the death, burial, and resurrection He was indeed
the Christ. Christ Jesus.
This was written in the joy of the Gospel.
The Gospel of Christ 1 Cor 15:1-11 leaves
man out.
As a result of accepting Christ as Saviour each believer turns his
or her life and soul over the Christ.
How could we miss place any Gift as Great as the Salvation of our
soul. If man were to have any part of that it would be terrible.
A true Christian understands when the Gospel is taught,
they know someone may be saved as a result.
Are you a Christian? This answer does not depend on
whether you go to church or not, believe a creed or not, lead a decent
life or not. Not to make small lite of theses they are important, But that
is the Social Gospel.
I am talking about a Gospel that the person everyone believers in
is a live. Christ is standing at the door
knocking. There is not a handle or latch on the saviour side.
You have to open the door to your heart and
let Him ( Christ ) in. Once in Christ will start to repair
the house, The Spirit of Christ will take up resident.
The Spirit will begin to change things. There is no way to try out
Christianity. It is all or none.
The word repents means a change of outlook. Sin will not look
the same as before. If you love sin you are lost.
Heb 11:24 CEV Then
after Moses grew up, his faith made him refuse to be called Pharaoh's grandson.
25 He chose to be mistreated with God's people instead of having
the good time that sin
could bring for a little while.
Is Christ your saviour?
The following is So true of a lost dying world. It is plain and simple
for God to be a righteous and just God,
He has to judge to lost, the wicked of the world. Christ is
the way, the only way.
John 14:5 CEV
Thomas said, "Lord, we don't even know where you are going! How can we
know the way?"
6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life!" Jesus answered. "Without
me, no one can go to the Father.
7 If you had known me, you would have known the Father. But from
now on, you do know him,
and you have seen him."
There are many so-called Christian who does not know where
they are headed. Before you can know it has
to the finished work of Christ that brings Salvation to your
soul.
Can you commit to Christ today?
Are you ready to live For Christ, invite Him in the door? Just invite
Him in He does the rest through the
Spirit of God. The choice is yours.
Many religions of the world say they worship
what they call God. Is he as old as the Hebrews God.
Was their God there when the earth was found. Is their God living
today?
Does their God have any Love?
Romans 5:8 CEV
But God showed how much he loved us by having Christ die for us, even though
we were sinful.
9 But there is more! Now that God has accepted us because Christ
sacrificed his life's blood,
we will also be kept safe from God's anger.
1 Tim 2:4 CEV
God wants everyone to be saved and to know the whole truth, which is,
5 There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who can
bring us to God.
Jesus was truly human, and he gave himself to rescue all of us.

know
that they become saved or that their joy is renewed if they are
saved.
Psalm 51:12 Make me as happy as you
did when you saved me; make me want to obey!
