The Power of Sin : Salvation From it's Power
Introduction: Christians only
have deliverance From Sin. An unsaved soul is neither saved from
the penalty of sin or from it's power.
This Doctrine
in its application is limited to Christian's only.
The Christian has a disposition
to both sin and do sin even though They are saved and safe in Christ.
To the souls that are saved
from the guilt and the penalty of sin. The Salvation from the Power of
Sin is God's Gracious provision to the one's saved By God's Never ending
Grace.
The
lack of understanding of this truth causes many a young believer to become
confused and alarmed, even doubting one's salvation of their soul
. Everyone has sin that is trying to gain power over their lives.
Many
will be troubled by the power of sin in their life. (Rom
7:5; Gal 5:17) Being the truth it should Grieve every Born Again
Soul. In place of Doubting and yielding to the practice of sin one should
learn of God's marvelous provisions that there is deliverance from the
power of sin. Rom 7:6; Rom 8:21; Gal 1:4; Col 1:13;
2 Peter 2:9.
The
way of Salvation From the penalty of sin is of most importance, there is
the divine Plan that whereby a Christian may live to the glory of God.
In the Preaching the Gospel( 1 Cor 15:1-11)
the truth need to be presented with the utmost care. As there is a need
for accuracy in the preaching of the Gospel, that same need is needed in
the scriptural doctrine of Salvation from the power of sin.
Sin has been a Problem For
Man:
Sin is a great Problem in the
Christians Life.
2 Peter 1:4 KJV Whereby
are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these
ye might be
partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Yes we have a divine
nature, though we have a divine nature that is incapable of sinning, the
saved soul still has that old nature. This old nature is incapable of holiness.
The old nature, that sinful nature,
sometimes called the old man. This is the flesh, when used scripturally
in a moral sense, include the spirit of man, man's soul, and his body.
The only thing that
the unregenerated man has is this old nature.
Gal 5:17 KJV For the flesh
lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these
are contrary
the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Gal 5:17-18 NIV
17 For the sinful nature
desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary
to the sinful
nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what
you want.
18 But if you are led by
the Spirit, you are not under law.
Rom 8:15-19 NIV
15 I do not understand what
I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
16 And if I do what I do
not want to do, I agree that the law is good.
17 As it is, it is no longer
I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.
18 I know that nothing good
lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do
what
is good, but I cannot carry it out.
19 For what I do is not
the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on
doing.
Rom 7:15 KJV For that which
I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that
do I.
16 If then I do that
which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more
I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in
me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present
with me;
but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that
I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
1 John
3:9 states the ones that are born of God does not practice( commit
)sin.
The verb is present tense implying
continuous action.
The same writer warns against
a believer saying that he has no sin nature. 1 John
1:8
The same believer is warned of
not saying he has not sinned.
1 John 1:10 If we say that we
have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
For this cause, he is walking
in dependence on God's Spirit.
For that daily deliverance
from sin.
If the old nature has control
of our lives it is because we have not surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am not talking about the
salvation of our souls. Which is of the most importance. Salvation, With
the Saving Grace of God of our soul then nothing Else is possible.
It all starts with Salvation.
It also does not stop there either. The Salvation of a soul is just the
beginning!!!
God saves to the uttermost.
So Great a Salvation.
What else can compare?
1 Cor 10:13 NIV
13 No temptation has seized
you except what is common to man. And God is faithful;
he will
not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,
he will
also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
We don't seem to believe
that God is strong enough to do what he says he will do. God, however,
has not changed. He has not stopped exercising his power, nor has his strength
diminished.
